Kanklės

Kanklės – a traditional Lithuanian plucked string folk instrument with deep cultural roots. When playing the kanklės, the strings are touched and plucked with fingers, producing a soft, resonant, and meditative sound. During classes, one learns correct posture, playing technique, simple melodies, and ensemble music-making basics. The activity develops musical hearing, sense of rhythm, concentration, and patience, also introduces the traditions of Lithuanian musical heritage.
